The cottage is a one and a half story structure built of indigenous stone and maintains a typical layout for a building of its type. Renovated within the last twenty years, it offers modern amenities while maintaining a traditional look and feel. The entry way is a glass-roofed solarium and is a pleasant place to linger over breakfast and plot the day’s activities. Upon entering the cottage itself, there is a living room area to the right with comfortable slip covered upholstered chairs and sofa, ample reading lamps and a selection of Irish literature. A wall of pine storage cupboards houses necessities such as extra bedding, ironing board and iron and portable stereo. To the left is the dining area with stone fireplace and scrubbed pine table and chairs. Continuing beyond the dining area is a modern bathroom and beyond that a fully equipped kitchen with washer and dryer. There are two sky lit loft bedrooms, one with a double brass bed above the living room and another with a double bed above the kitchen. A roll-away bed provides additional sleeping space. Furnishings are a mixture of well-worn antiques and comfortable contemporary pieces which complement the simplicity of the house and its rural location.
Centrally heated, the cottage is available for rent year-round at seasonal rates. Rental times extend from Saturday to Saturday and are by the week. Smoking is not permitted within the house. Linens and utilities are included. Our housekeeper who lives locally will provide you with keys, show you around the cottage and make sure you are comfortable.
